From Software Engineer… to Clinical Hypnotherapist
“It was in the spring of 2010, amidst some personal soul searching, that I entered a yoga studio for the first time. I was blessed to find a highly knowledgeable and very spiritual yoga teacher who offered private yoga classes. It was through this eye-opening experience that I was able to catch a glimpse of another side to Life. With a fresh outlook and an open mind, I began to explore the power of the mind-body-spirit connection. I became an avid student of Dr. Joe Dispenza and Bruce Lipton, PhD who taught that by ‘reprogramming our brains’ we can change the way we think, feel and behave, which can result in profound changes in our relationships and lives.
In 2012, when I found myself in the middle of a personal crisis, I started seeing a therapist… actually three, one right after the other. While I was able to talk about what was going on in my life and I initially felt better after leaving my appointments, talk therapy alone was not providing lasting relief or giving me any insight as to why I felt the way I felt; I knew something deeper was going on.
Someone suggested that I try Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It proved to be an effective modality with lasting effects. And I was now able to see the effect that old, unhealed wounds had on my current life and demonstrated that it was possible to uncover and resolve many layers of past emotional traumas (even ones that are decades old).
And then I found Hypnotherapy… One day, quite by accident, I landed on a website about hypnotherapy and I was instantly hooked. This was the perfect mechanism for ‘changing the programming’. It turned out to be the capstone to all that I had learned previously. Hypnotherapy incorporates the ‘programming changes’ described by Dr. Joe Dispenza and Bruce Lipton, PhD (who is an advocate of hypnosis). It has the effectiveness of EFT, and provides a wide variety of protocols and techniques that can be tailored to meet each client’s needs.
I immediately enrolled in Florida’s only state-licensed school for hypnotherapy (and one of only a handful of it’s kind nationwide), and put my heart into the training. About halfway through the program, I realized just how powerful hypnotherapy could be and wondered if this might be my next career path. At the end of the program, I found myself at a fork in the road. I had been a software engineer for 15 years, and the last 10 of those years were spent at the Kennedy Space Center. I knew I could sail through to retirement quite comfortably there, or I could choose to use my hypnotherapy knowledge and skills to serve others. Without hesitation, I knew I needed to follow my heart… and I chose to open my hypnotherapy practice and offer my services to all whom I could help. It has been most rewarding.
The profound effects I’ve personally experienced with hypnotherapy have turned it into my passion and profession. As a certified professional in this wonderful field of vast potential, I enjoy introducing clients to its powerful effects and ability to change lives.”
